Christ Church makes its facilities available to many community groups, including the Girl Guides. Some representatives from the Guides will be joining us at the 10 am service this Sunday, October 20th, to share with us some of the things the girls get up to. Come join us in showing your support for them, and to hear about the ways they impact the lives of girls in the community.
Missed a sermon lately? Want to catch up on a few you might have enjoyed? The sermon page has been updated recently, with more sermons from Fr. Stephen’s Galatians series. Check out this link to visit the sermons page directly, or check under the Media tab at the website.
Mark your calendars, as we are celebrating another outdoor service! On Sunday, July 14 @ 10am we plan on celebrating our service on the church lawn (weather permitting). This service is more informal and relaxed, suited to the slow summer months. The service will be followed by a picnic and BBQ.
The church provides the hot dogs and beverages, so please bring a side dish to go with it. Bring a lawn chair, and dress for the weather. Mosquito spray often helps!
In case of bad weather, the service and picnic will be moved indoors.
Fr. Stephen’s preaching series on Galatians continues this Sunday with Galatians 2:1-14. Come hear about St. Paul’s fight to preserve the Gospel’s message of freedom from those who sought to turn into a kind of slavery. It is for freedom that Christ set us free! (Gal.5:1) Come join us as we celebrate this great message of joy.
Our annual Sunday School Closing Service is coming up on June 9th, at the 10 am Sunday service. The service will be held outdoors, and our youth will help lead. The praise band and choir will be providing music. A BBQ and children’s games will follow, so be sure to join us.
If you’re coming, bring a lawn chair and a side dish. Remember to dress for the weather, as it sometimes gets hot out there.
In case of bad weather, the service will be moved indoors. We’ll still have a BBQ though!
Christ Church is starting a new initiative, as a way of reaching out to families grieving the loss of loved ones. Approximately every 3 months, our church will hold a short memorial service for those whom our church has conducted funeral services for. The service will include prayers for comfort and thanksgiving.
This will take place following our regular 10am Sunday Service. Families of the deceased will be invited, and anyone is welcome to attend. This will also be an opportunity to remember any loved one who has passed away, regardless of whether the death was recent.
The next service of memorial prayer will take place on June 2nd, following the 10am Sunday Service. This will start at approximately 11:30am. Please talk to Ann Strudwick or Fr. Stephen for details.
Join us for this child-friendly service, as our Church’s young people lead us and our parish children in worship. They will be taking the lead in telling the children’s story, leading prayers, and doing the readings.
Music will be lead by our choir and praise band, and we’ll also be taking up our Noisy Offering. All proceeds go the Madagascar School Project.
Be sure to join us! Bring a friend.
