Our great day camp finished up last week, but we captured some of the magic with some great photos. Here are some of the fun moments:
This Sunday, July 22nd, will feature a baptism at our 10 am service. Baptism is a sacrament given to us by Jesus, to mark a person’s entry into the Christian faith. In our service, we witness a child’s baptism, but we are also reminded of our own baptism. We are reminded of the promises we made, or were made for us, to follow Jesus faithfully and live according to His will. And we are also reminded of His promises to us–of eternal life, love and acceptance. It is a very great thing to be reminded of, so please plan on joining us!
On Sunday, July 22 @ 7 pm, Fr. Stephen will be leading a choral evensong at Holy Trinity Church, Lascelles. This is part of Holy Trinity’s annual summer series, featuring guest preachers and choirs from the Ottawa-Gatineau area. It will be Fr. Stephen’s 3rd time presiding at this event. This is a beautiful, traditional service taken from the Book of Common Prayer but rarely celebrated today. It is well worth the drive. The church is located in the beautiful Lascelles area of Gatineau. You can find a map here. Come and check it out!
Please talk to Fr. Stephen for details.
This Sunday, July 15, our 10 am service will be our day camp closing service. This service shows off some of the activities, songs and crafts which our kids have been up to over the course of the day camp. The service is shorter than our regular service, and kid-friendly, so please plan on joining us for this lively celebration.
On Sunday, July 8th, 10 am, we will be holding our service outdoors on the church lawn (weather permitting). Bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather (bug spray can be helpful). This is a more relaxed atmosphere for worship, so is an excellent opportunity to invite a friend to church. Squirmy kids can run around on the lawn too!
In case of bad weather, the service will be moved indoors.
